The Tennessee Shakespeare Festival in association with The Baylor School is offering an exciting summer program for high school students. The festival will offer internships to selected area students, who will subsequently be involved with the 2013 season at all levels of production. The Festival's Intern Program is designed to expose 12 to 18 year-old students to all aspects professional theatre, including performance, production, management and design.Students will have the opportunity to watch and to work with professional festival performers, technicians, and designers as they prepare the fifth annual Tennessee Shakespeare Festival. In addition, interns will attend workshops and master classes in movement, stage combat, scene study and Shakespeare taught by festival professionals.
The educational program mission of Tennessee Shakespeare is to provide a balanced emphasis in education and entertainment through exploration and performance of the language, stories, character, and culture of William Shakespeare. Every intern will have the unique opportunity to perform on the Festival stage in recital on July 13th, as well as having the opportunity to audition for mainstage festival productions.
The TSF Apprentice Program provides opportunities for area college students to work alongside professional actors, designers, and technicians throughout the production and performance process. |
