Tennessee
Shakespeare Festival Names Design Staff
|

|
The Tennessee Shakespeare Festival inaugural production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be designed by three veterans of Nashville theatre. Gary C. Hoff is the Scenic Designer, Trish Clark is heading up costume design, and Michael C. Barnett is taking the reigns of design lighting.
All three designers recently collaborated with Artistic
Director Lane Davies on Tennessee Repertory Theatre's
recent production of Steve Martin's farce, The
Underpants. |

Gary C. Hoff
|
Mr. Hoff was honored to be included as one of the six “Virtuoso Designers” spotlighted in American Theatre, a national magazine for theatre in America. Mr. Hoff’s work has also been seen at Nashville Children’s Theatre in the recent production of Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business. Other works include Dollywood, and the Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s productions of A Winter’s Tale (2005) and Macbeth (2006). He is also the proud recipient of the Tennessee Arts Commission Ingram Fellowship in design and holds a master’s degree from Purdue University.

Trish Clark
|
Ms. Clark currently serves as Tennessee's Rep's Resident Costume Designer and Costumes Shop Manager. Ms. Clark has designed for many other professional and educational theatres including Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Nashville Shakespeare Theatre, Nashville Academy Theatre (Nashville Children's Theatre), MTSU Opera, MTSU Theatre, and Tennessee Dance Theatre. She was especially honored to teach costume design for the Tennessee
Governor's School for the Arts. She holds a BA in theatre from Middle Tennessee State University. Ms. Clark lives in Murfreesboro with
her husband, Tick, and daughters Rebecca, Lilly, and Amelia. |

Michael Barnett
|
Mr. Barnett has recently designed for
the Clarence Brown Theatre, Seaside Music
Theatre, Theatre Southeast, and The
WorldPlayers among others. Recent
designs include Inherit the Wind, The Grapes of Wrath, Lysistrata, Company Mr. Marmalade, Working, The Good Woman of Setzuan, Oedipus Rex, Forever Plaid, This is Our Youth, and The Shape of Things.
Mr. Barnett received his Bachelor of Arts from The University of Tennessee and his Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from Florida State University. Mr. Barnett currently lives in Oxford, Mississippi, with his wife and daughter where he is the Head of the BFA Lighting Design Program with The University of Mississippi., |
